[Drama Review] Reset

A Chinese drama that should not be called a Chinese drama or Reset

If you haven't seen this drama, you can't say you've seen a good Chinese drama. Such a good drama. Although it came out in January this year, I just watched it, so I can write a review now.

Synopsis (4.5 out of 5 stars)

🚌 Zhao Jinmai as Li Shiqing, a university student who repeatedly wakes up on bus number 45

🚌 Bai Jingting as Xiao Heyun, a game designer who repeatedly wakes up on the bus when Li Shiqing drags him.

Every time a bomb goes off on the bus, the two of them wake up again, and when they can't get out of a time travel loop, what will they do with the people on the bus...

Acting Skill (4 out of 5 stars)

Bai Jingting

Bai Jingting does not have a big fandom. Although he was not strongly encouraged, he is already in the list of good young actors. In this drama, he was able to act perfectly without needing to say anything. The character who is the game designer tends to make points for when he was afraid, or when he makes a decision, they tend to do it relentlessly. He was able to describe well how he wanted to protect his loved ones.

Zhao Jinmai

She doesn't get to put too much make-up on because it is a time travel loop, in a drama where you are not allowed to do anything with fashion, you rely on only one kind of acting ability and act the most natural way. She was able to act the most when she relied on others or herself. A character who finds a solution amidst the complexities was best portrayed at a young age. She also seems to have listened to the director's words. She doesn't look like she rejected what directors taught.

Liu Yijun

Even though he had to act in the same way over and over again, it didn't get boring. He was able to play the role of a dutiful policeman at his best. As good as the 2 main characters are, the supporting actors are not over-the-top, so this drama was flawless.

Liu Tao

She was able to change form and act until we didn't even recognize Liu Tao. Even though there wasn't a lot of room, the veteran actor was able to give the viewer the feeling that these things were really happening in front of them without feeling like they were acting a little bit.

I left it because if I continued to write the rest, I would spoil the story. There is no hero left, I can boldly say that the one with only one or two episodes is a film with people who are too good, not even at the level of a drama, but at the level of a movie. The person who plays the role of the supporting roles also fits into that style. The person who played the role of the character was also able to act without feeling discouraged. I must say that the directors are great.

Script (4 out of 5 stars)

While watching, it will make y ou think that a script like this can be made into a story. Even though there are 15 episodes, the script is so good that it doesn't get boring in any episode. There are even 6 people who wrote the script, so normally you would think that it'll be overwhelming, but in this drama, the script helped to make even the smallest things look good.

Are you guess right? Is it going as you think? Wondering what will happen next is what drives viewers to keep watching this drama until the end.

Besides the basic script, the presentation is also very good. In some dramas, if the script is not well presented, viewers leave without understanding the story. This drama does not do that, but it is so well presented that you feel like you are on the bus.

In the last episode, it wasn't so fantastic that the police washed away why they knew. That's why it was a difficulty in the previous parts. Finally, it feels so easy. Other than that, everything else is perfect.

Production Quality (4.8 out of 5 stars)

If you look at first glance, you'd think it's easy because the clothes are narrow, you can't get bored of taking pictures of this over and over again. From color editing to the explosion scenes, it was so good that Daylight was able to edit it without making you feel like, "Hey, this is a big fake."

With 3 directors working together, everything came naturally. Halfway through I thought there was going to be something else, but it was satisfying to be able to show it well.

In summary, what I want to say is you gotta watch it. A Chinese drama is a drama that will make you satisfied. Because it was a time travel drama, it was not allowed to be shown on TV, so it didn't win any major awards, but it is a rare drama that has remained as a high-quality Chinese drama internationally. As mentioned above, if you haven't seen this drama, you can't say you've seen good Chinese dramas.

Read it in Burmese.
