[Biography] Zhang Yixing

The ideal idol of all idols or Zhang Yixing

Many have attended fan meetings as fan boys / fan girls. How many of them became successful like the idols they supported? Zhang Yixing was one of them.

On this day (October 7th) 31 years ago, he was born as Zhang Jiashuai in Changsha, Hunan Province. His great-grandad was the former chairman of the Hunan Provincial Political Committee who went to the same school as Mao Zedong and a former member of the Central Committee of the CCP. Although not much is known about his parents, he comes from a well-educated family. Born in this community, Zhang Yixing has been a child actor in TV series since he was 6 years old.

In 2000, at the age of 9, he participated in a TV program as a member of Jimmy Lin's fan club, and began his exposure to this industry. Later, as a native of Hunan Province, won prizes while participating in programs on Hunan TV.

In 2008, when he was 17 years old, the process of life that started the existence of Lay began to appear. This is when he was selected in SM's recruitment held in Wuhan. He moved to Korea since he was 17 years old and took one step towards the dream of an idol.

After 4 years as a trainee, he debuted as a member of EXO in 2012. As we all know, EXO's success is all over the world. In EXO, Zhang Yixing is known by most people for dancing.

In April 2015, Zhang Yixing became the only remaining Chinese member of EXO and SM opened his own studio. Within a month of opening the studio, he became a regular member of the Go Fighting TV program. This program was not only a program that helped him become more popular, but also a program that made him close to his older brothers who would help him throughout his life. Most of the movies/serials that were made later were people who loved Zhang Yixing from Go Fighting.

While performing with dances, he continued to work as an actor on the other hand. In 2017, he appeared in the movie Kung Fu Yoga with Jackie Chan. In the same year, he performed together with EXO for the last time.

In September of that year, the song Sheep was released, earning the nickname China sheep, which sold 5 million yuan for 9 hours and 11 minutes. In September of that year, he appeared as a presenter on Idol Producer, the origin of China's idol survival shows, and the program became a hit show with many viewers.

In 2018, Namanana released the album and reached 21st place on the Billboard 200.

In 2019, he released the Honey EP, and tickets for the Grand Line concert that year sold out in 8 seconds.

In 2020, Zhang Yixing started his own company, Chromosome Entertainment Group. The company will carry out recruitment and trainee training according to SM's method, and SM's founder Lee Soo-man gave an encouraging speech at the beginning of the establishment.

In the same year, he participated as a captain in a well-known TV program, Street Dance of China, and had a total of 2 seasons.

In 2021, EXO Lay was seen again in the MV of Don't Fight the Feeling, an EXO song. That same year, he appeared in Back to Field, one of the most popular shows in China. On the acting side, he appeared as the second actor in Crime Crackdown, which was a popular drama.

Currently, he released an EP called West, and only  Jay Chou and Zhang Yixing can sell 1 million digital copies by 2022. There will also be shows in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the U.S.

Zhang Yixing is an idol. It's been 10 years since their debut, but he's always been at the top of the charts, keeping up with the idols that appeared later, and they've already established a strong fandom. There were no major courting rumors, nor was there any rumors of a bad reputation as an image ambassador for the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC), the CCP's youth movement network.

When they talk about Zhang Yixing, most of them say the same thing. This means hard work. "Zhang Yixing always tries hard", "Zhang Yixing works hard" is what everyone who admires him says.

Now Zhang Yixing is 31 years old. Since we already have our own company, when will the people from Chromosome debut and become a CEO who manages artists? It will be interesting to see what you will do next.
