Many children  love everything they see on the TV screen. They used to follow. But how many are able to put into practice the madness they had at the age of three or four? Tan Jianci was one of them.

On October 5, 1990, Tan Jianci was born in Beihai, Guangxi Autonomous Region, bordering Vietnam.

He was obsessed with Michael Jackson since he was three or four years old. Michael Jackson's choreography was something he loved. His mother also liked to dance, so she sewed him MJ-style shirts. Tan Jianci's childhood was spent wearing those little shirts, and standing in front of the mirror performing all kinds of MJ's choreography by himself.

Most children are named by their parents. Tan Jianci made a name for himself. About 5 years later, he moved to Japan for a while. There, the name of the character from the Fist of North Star manga that he really likes is Kenjiro. (Japanese kanji and Kenjiro are pronounced as Jiancilang in Chinese, the spelling is the same) He is also crazy about Kenjiro, so his mother said, "Then change the son's name to Kenjiro (Jiancilang)" so he got this name. Tan Jiancilang is a four-letter word that can be a bit awkward, so if you remove the lang, it becomes Tan Jianci.

A year later, he returned to China and attended school in Beihai. But the influence of Michael Jackson is already on him, isn't it? So, while going to school, he started taking dance classes in his spare time. At the age of 13, he began studying ballroom dance thoroughly while attending a high school affiliated with the Beijing Dance Academy.

Tan Jianci, who did not stop dancing at the level of madness as a child, has won prizes in various dance competitions since 2006 when he was 16 years old. Tan Jianci, who gained attention only because of these awards, was selected by Taihe Rye Music and began a 3-year training period.

At the age of 17, he was admitted to the art department of Beijing Sports University. In 2008, he had the chance to participate in the movie Lost Indulgence for the first time in his life as an idol trainee. Although the story is good, Tan Jianci, who had no acting experience, was heavily criticized for this movie.

So, while still in school, in 2009, performing as a member of M.I.C, they made their official debut in 2010. While making songs as M.I.C member JC-T, he was acting as Tan Jianci in 2017 and 2018 for The Advisors Alliance and The Secret of the Three Kingdoms series, people started to notice a little about his acting. At that time, he was 27/28.

The drama that made Tan Jianci, who had been doing most of the backup, get recognition more significantly, is the Winter Begonia released in 2020. Just as many of the actors in this movie have been praised, Tan Jianci has become more recognized.

Under the Skin, released in 2022, has been the most successful drama ever, and Tan Jianci's acting career has been promoted by a step. This film, which featured as the main actor, was a hit with domestic and foreign audiences. It was a talked-about drama, and it scored a 7.5 in Douban with over 270,000 scorers.

Because it will be in the movie based on the BL novel "Winner is King", which has not yet been released, people are more interested in Tan Jianci and new fans are also gained.

When talking about Tan Jianci, as much as he shines when he performs on stage, he also shines when he acts, either as a backup or as a main role.
