ย Are charts of Chinese celebrities important? Part-2 ๐ง๐
๐ฏ What is Douban?
People here watch Chinese cars and listen to Chinese music, so they only know Douban by those things, but in fact, Douban is China's largest review website / app. Not only songs and stories, but also TV programs, book, festival ceremony It is a place where you can write reviews for all products. The founder of Douban said that he founded Douban with the desire to create a place where everyone is good/bad because he believes that when choosing entertainment, people want to hear good/bad recommendations from their acquaintances. (Source 1)
Now it has become more sophisticated and Douban has become a place where everything can be discussed. In addition to the official pages where you can give reviews, there are also conversations. There is a lot of gossip and gossip in the place where people talk freely. Usually, who and who was what when filming which program? Who will be in the next program? Such things. Rumors are not all bad things. Sometimes people who have watched the program that has not yet aired come to share what they have seen and heard.
๐ฏ Who uses Douban?
Unlike Weibo, he cannot open an account easily. Unlike Weibo, if you have 10 emails, you can open 10 accounts, but Douban can only open 1 account with 1 phone number. Therefore, the - ฬถฬถฬถแถถฬถฬถฬถฬถ reviews come from each person in general. This means that there is no such thing as ranking well because of spam like the rankings I wrote in the previous post. A research conducted in 2018 revealed that most people who use Douban are well-educated and have independent thoughts. (Source 2)
๐ฏHow do I leave a review on Douban?
movies, stories, You can star TV programs, A maximum of five stars and a minimum of one star are given, and a rating number is issued based on the number of stars. The total number of stars received is proportional to the number of people who gave a review to get this score. For example, if 5 people give a review and all 5 give 5 stars, you get 10 points. If 4 give 3 stars and 2 give 2 stars, it should be 6.4. If all 5 give only 1 star each, you get 2 points. (If you don't know how to calculate this, don't go and support Calculus, it's a sample calculation, it's not given a good score)
Then you can also comment, The comment is not obligatory. Usually only 1/5 or 1/4 of the people who give a star review write a comment. If you like it in the comments, If you don't like it, they often write that you don't like it. I wrote why I didn't like it. If there is something going on in the story/program that is being broadcast, many people come and the rating changes very quickly. For example, when they feel that the Go Ahead script is no longer good, they throw a tantrum and criticize it, causing them to lose points. In the comments, they describe why they don't like it and give a review.
(ot all trends you see on Weibo are genuine) Give something to those who already have an account and ask them to give you a rating. That's what any review website can do, whether it's Trip Advisor or IMDB, not Douban. But more or less, they read the reviews and decide whether they are good or not. On the other hand, fans will only give 5 stars if someone they like is good or bad. But where you are only allowed to give 1 to 1 person, a fan cannot overcome the opinion of the general public.
Douban is of the same opinion, not 100% correct, but his points more or less reflect the state of the story/program. Douban is definitely much stronger than other charts that count 100 posts from 1 account to 1000 posts.
Another thing is the number of reviewers. The more popular a story/program gets, the more people who leave reviews. The more people who leave a review, the lower the score may be. For example, Happy Camp is watched nationwide, so there are a lot of people who give reviews. Even so, the score is still over 7. Even though Go ahead only got the last 7, there were more than 200,000 people who entered.
Sometimes I can't watch some of them, and some of them go in and watch that story/program, but there are also cases where they get 1 stars. For example, in the case of AO3, they gave The Untamed a star. But as I just said, the one-sided view of fans or antis can hardly overcome the public's opinion.
To summarize, every good Douban Score does not necessarily mean that the program or story is good, but good programs / stories have a good Douban Score. It's not ice every time it's cold, but it's always cold. Not every fire is hot, but every fire is hot. In that sense, not every good story/programme is good, but every good story/programme has a good Douban Score.
